New worsted wt yarns now available online!

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

 nd-dk-wts.JPG

If you have visited my studio or booth at a show, you will have noticed yarns not available online.  This month I am introducing traditional wool yarns dyed with natural dyes…actually reintroducing would be more accurate.  I have been hand dyeing a worsted wt Canadian merino wool yarn for years and have now decided to make it available online.  There will be other Canadian wools available - sometimes Dorset, sometimes Romney, but mostly Merino - none are superwash so you get the traditional feel of a knitting yarn.  It is lofty, full of lanolin, and quick to knit up with 4-5mm needles.  Great for hats, and scarves and sweaters too!  So now you have a choice!

And prices start as low as $12….yes I thought you might like that J

Something to share

Just something I’d like to share….it arrived in my email box at the perfect time.  Cheers

Dancing With God
When I meditated on the word
   Guidance,
I kept seeing “dance” at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right…

The movement doesn’t flow with the music,

and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back

or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It’s as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

and attentiveness from one person

and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word
   Guidance.
When I saw “G”: I thought of God, followed by “u” and “i”.

“God, “u” and “i” dance.”

God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

that I would get
     guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings

and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God
  abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

and to guide you through each season of your life.

This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.

If God has done anything for
  you in your life,
please share this message with someone else.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards;

so let’s continue to pray for one another.

And I Hope You Dance Through 2010

Yarn Club almost ready

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

After some crazy dyeing last week the last of the skeins are almost dried - so all shipments will go out Mon or Tues this week.

And I was asked to clarify about the “buying and selling terms” for the Yarn Club.  You are welcome to trade and sell the colourways amongst current Yarn Club members if you like - just not in public on Ravelry as the subscribers paid to have access to the colourways before the general public….if I chose to release them eventually.  Sorry for any confusion about that.  I don’t know how the trading/selling would work as I can’t give out my client list - but maybe you have an idea?

…now off to label what’s dry :)

Cheers

Animals in Haiti

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Just a reminder that the animals need our help too!  Aid is pouring in for the people of Haiti which is fabulous…but we must remember all the animals that have been injured and lost at this time.  And those that will be left to fend for themselves (likely injured and dying) while the focus is on humans.  There are many animal organizations collecting for relief.  My favorite is www.WSPA.ca   They are on the ground in Haiti (and throughout the world).  Other organizations such as www.IFAW.com and www.NoahsWish.org are also excellent…if you can’t choose, send to all of them!  They’ll be sure to work together.

I have been doing my part by donating a portion of all sales (not net profit or gross profit as others do…as there is no profit yet!) over the next few months in support of relief efforts.

Be generous…give with your heart…today and everyday of your life!

cheers

Gotta share this…

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

I just have to share this….my mouth is still agape as I can’t believe I did this!  Or that the man that just dropped by did that!

About 2 hours ago I went to the mailbox and found a “Parcel key” (that’s a key in your mailbox that let’s you know there’s a parcel in another mailbox and that is the key to access it…you return the key in the slot afterwards).  Well I took out the key and removed the parcel and ..duh…forgot to take  my keys out of my mailbox and retrieve the rest of my mail….I had left the keys in the keyhole of the mailbox with my house, car, and every other key I have…with my mailbox open….with my name, address…and any checks in there (ok there weren’t any checks but there could’ve been :) )  I had wondered where my extra set of keys were  when I got home (that is the set I used for the mailbox) but as usual figured they were at the bottom of my purse so didn’t worry.

So I was stunned when a man came came to the door with the keys and mail and called me by name!  I was stunned!!!!  I have never done anything like that before! Duh!!!

Lately, especially, I’ve been feeling a bit bummed that due to my modest living we have to live here.  But today my heart just oozed with gratitude…for in this modest rural area…where things are pretty safe….and you can walk the streets at 3 am…you can leave your keys in the mailbox for part of the day and someone you don’t even know will hand deliver them to you as if it was no big deal….

Thank you so much Mr Blue Truck….I didn’t even get his name.

cheers!

merlot-jan-10-yc.JPG

There are 3 skeins of Merlot available to Yarn Club members for this term.  1 of lot 1072 and 2 of lot 1093.  The photo above is of the Merlot but not :)  Can’t get the camera to show the rich purple colour - it tends towards blue.  The cost is $28 per skin and only available for current Yarn Club members.  I can ship the skeins with your next yarn installment or if you need it asap, I can do that but that but regular shipping charges would apply.

Contact me directly via email or through my website at www.indigomoonyarns.com

cheers

ps In case some of you are commenting on the blog posts (which I would really really love!), I’m not ignoring you.  I haven’t been able to get Akismet installed without locking myself out of the blog completely so there’s tons of spam in my mailbox.  So if I’ve missed your comment, sorry - but as soon as I get some help with this I’ll post it.
