Greenhouse aka Indigo House

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Today is the second day my handyman is working on my greenhouse/indigo house.  Initially I asked him to make a tomato shelter but it morphed into a real greenhouse.  Spirit graciously gave me the other reason….an indigo house!!!!  I’ve wanted a place to have a naturally fermented indigo vat for years now - something I could keep going ad infinitum - but due to the odor, messiness and need for a constantly warm environment, it’s been one failure after the next…which is not just disappointing but costly!

So now it looks like I’m going to have the greenhouse I’ve always wanted, a tomato shelter, AND an indigo house…who could ask for anything more?  Or the “more” is….it will eventually be double in size so that everything and everyone has plenty of elbow room - but since it is located inside the raspberry patch, that will take a lot of digging…as most of the berries need to be saved and it’s too stressful for them (and me!) to transplant them at this time.  Oh and the best part (well maybe not the best but it’s a good part) is that all the materials were found on the property or were discards from the lumber yard…how cool eh?  Can you tell I love to truly reduce, reuse and recycle?  (Actually I’ve been doing that since I was a child…now it’s the “in” thing to do.)

Hope this inspires you to go out and see what morphs for you…start with something small and before you know it…poof your dream has become a reality!
cheers
