The Sun is here!!!

Friday, February 5th, 2010

I was going to post about yarn today and get to work in the studio however, after weeks of overcast cloudy days  the Sun is out!!!!!  So ….I may have to be outside today at least for part of the day.  But here’s a peek at some of the Spring colours…just to whet your appetite.

Shown clockwise is Marigold sport wt, Wasabi fingering wt, Logwood purple and Cochineal pink.  Perfect for Spring!  Our crocuses are starting to pop through the soil and the birds are singing and and and ….guess I really should take my camera outside.  Well off to ship Urban Yarns some yarn…and to go outside for a bit!

cheers

Lots of pics

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

The last few posts have been pretty short on photos so today I took some photos specially for you….before I even had breakfast!

Actually I was looking out the kitchen window when it hit me - the whole backyard is a garden!  Not sure how I missed that one before.  And yesterday we got rain!  We need weeks of steady rain to fill the cisterns however an afternoon and evening were a welcome reprieve from drought conditions….and I didn’t have to water the garden!

And another shot.

Even the indigo bed is doing pretty well.

And here is a photo of the new visitors bench.  Up until yesterday there was a small stool upon which to sit when taking off shoes before entering the studio…now this bench is far better - wider, sturdier, and provides a garden view if you want to sit for a while! My handyman even suggested I put out some “guy mags” re car, boats, or whatever so that the men can sit outside while the woman take their time browsing in the studio.

Here are some pics of the studio garden - flowers you see when sitting on the bench.

Some bright orange Cosmos or Coreopsis…I can never remember which one!

The Dahlias are still doing well in spite of the lack of water

The Black-eyed Susans are bursting forth!

So that’s a little bit about what’s going on around here…tomorrow we’ll get back to yarn!

Cheers
