Update re silks

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

The site has been updated for the muga silk, mulberry silk and Silken Pleasures …still have to make my way throught the Tonals, HPs, etc.  Sure would be nice to have an automatic inventory!

I wanted to update you regarding the “silk situation”.  Both the Muga Silk and the Mulberry Silk are very limited as there is a problem with the suppliers.  I will be dyeing up a bit more Muga in the natural dyes since the yarn is already mordanted but after that…who knows.  I’ve been dreading this time - hoping to find a replacement before I run out - but seems that might not be so.

It’s here!!!

Spring is here!  The bees are buzzing, the birds are chirpping and the flowers are blooming and….the new yarn is here!

This merino wool is a comfy soft wool that is perfect for sweaters, blankets, scarves, shawls, hats pretty much anything …except socks :)

It is a DK wt yarn  20sts/4″     4mm needles suggested.   210yds/100gm skein.
As with all my yarns, they are hand-dyed by me in small batches with environmentally friendly dyes.
Certified Organic Merino Wool…it doesn’t get much better than that!

Crazy for Colour

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Sometimes I get a little bit crazy…and with all the colours of tulips and daffodils, crocuses and hyacinths popping up in the garden I went a bit “Crazy for Colour”…a new colourway just in time for my birthday tomorrow.

Cheers

Silken Pleasure….

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Yesterday I took the “day off” to paint a kitchen that was in dire need of paint for a number of years…not so much a “day off” but an exhausting ordeal…..the kitchen looks great though it’s only about half done.  Looking at paint chips for the past while has provided me with a ton of name suggestions which…frankly….don’t make a lot of sense, or fit any type of categorization…but I think it’ll work.  The Silken Pleasure yarns I dyed last week are all exquisite and if left to my own devices I would call them things like”exquisite”, “fabulous”, “mind blowing” :)  So to come back down to Earth a bit - after floating around in ecstasy when taking the yarns out of the dyebaths…I think these new names make more sense.  However…saying that….I can always change my mind if I like :)  one of the perks of being the dyer and business owner :)

So here goes….

spring-bud-green.JPG

To pay homage to all the buds that are popping on the trees out here on the balmy Pacific West Coast….”Spring Buds Green” in  Silken Pleasure - an exquisite  50/50 blend of merino wool and mulberry silk in a worsted wt yarn.   Outstanding to knit and wear as a scarf, sweater, mitts…pretty much anything you’d like.  I have limited quantities of each colourway and when they are gone will be taking orders.

Happy shopping!

Coming Soon… Limited Editions

Friday, May 1st, 2009

For months now, I have been wanting to start a Limited Edition Program…and thought this would be the perfect time to do it!  Many of you expressed interest in such a program especially since the monthly yarn club allows for only a limited number of members.  The Limited Edition colourways will be different from the Yarn Club as everyone will be allowed to make a purchase.

Newsletter subscribers will receive occassional emails regarding Limited Edition colourways (this will also be posted on my blog although by the time you read the blog the yarn may have sold out!).  The Limited Editions will be available at a specific time and on a specific day and in an extremely limited quantity (10 or less).  These colours will not be repeated.  However since the Indigo Moon line of yarns is extensive some colours may look similar.  Be assured that these are ad libbed colourways as I am not trying to copy colours, match or reproduce them for the Limited Editions but allowing myself full creative expression in my work.  These yarns are non-returnable unless they are defective (which is unlikely but possible) - please email me asap if that is the case.

The Newsletter will include day and time the Limited Editions will be available for sale and when they will be shipped out.  Also price and quantity.  Shipping charges are extra and can be combined with other online purchases at the same time.  Purchasing will be done through my website at http://www.indigomoonyarns.com/index.php?cPath=40

Stay tuned :-)

Have a great day!
