 July 2010 Newsletter

Summer is upon us and holidays are happening for most.   Although I don’t take time off in the summer, I find that my life tends to take a shift at that time.  And that is partially why there are changes in the works regarding the IM Yarn Club.

****The Autumn Indigo Moon Yarn Club is open for sign ups until Aug 10…or earlier if space runs out J. This term will run from Sept to Nov 09 inclusive and will feature the rich tones of Fall.   I was planning to take time off in 2011 however….things are up in the air …and may continue for another year before I take a break :)   If you’d like to add your voice email me at info(at)indigomoonyarns(dot)com.

If you signed up for the  Autumn Club only because it was supposed to be the last one and want to change your mind….just let me know…I’m ok with that.  I’ll know more by the next newsletter.  If the IM Yarn Club runs in 2011, there will be a few changes …to make things a bit less stressful for me J

****New Deep Discounts section on website.  Since there are no more spaces on the homepage I’ve placed the “Deep Discounts” section with the “Yarn Club etc” in the bottom right hand corner for now.  Here is the direct link http://www.indigomoonyarns.com/index.php?cPath=40

In the “Deep Discounts” section you will find everything from limited editions to discontinued colourways, some with slight imperfections, maybe a few less yards, or a knot or two.  But I will always mention if there is something not quite perfect so you won’t have any surprises.

***September Show in Nanaimo.  I will have a booth at the Fashion Fiesta being held at the Nanaimo Convention Centre Sept 10 and 11, 2010.

***I will no longer be attending the Filberg Festival in Comox  August long weekend.

***I will be attending The Yoga Conference in Oct in Vancouver which is a new-to-me show….not the usual place for yarn but a perfect place for my handwoven shawls and blankets (the yarn will be an added bonus!).

Have a great  rest-of-the-summer.

Trish

Never made it…but there’s good news too :)

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

For those of you that attended the Knit Out in Victoria…sorry but I couldn’t make it.   Good news is that I will be running the Knit Out Special online.  Buy 5 skeins of the Tonals and West Coast Musings and get the 6th one free!  That means it’s a great time to start getting your Fall projects together…on the first day of summer!  The special will run for the rest of the week (til 25th).  Great time to get enough yarn for that special winter sweater or lots of 1 skein projects for Xmas gifts (I’m so cruel to mention this on the first day of summer!)

Happy Shopping!

ps don’t forget you still have one day for the specials on Silken Pleasures, the naturally dyed worsted wt wools and the DK wt silk blends.

pps just mention code vic5+1 in the notes section for the Knit Out Special.

I’m back and….

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I’m back from the Frolic yippee!  The show was a huge success!  It was great to see familiar faces from last year and lots and lots of new Indigo Moon yarnies :)

Unfortunately ….I forgot my camera in my room and have no pics to share:( which is extra sad since the booth looked awesome!  Chanterelle lady’s Aeolian shawl in the Autumn Gold muga silk was a hit - I sold almost all the muga I had shipped!  When I got home I received the bad news that this muga silk is no longer available :( .  I will be looking for a new lace wt tussah silk which - although not handspun - will also be 1000-1500 yards per skein and it should dye up similarly.  I am heartbroken about it as I also use the silk in my weaving but oh well….got to roll with the punches I guess.

So it’s been quite a roller coaster over the past week.  I could write a lot more but….need to get back to dyeing as the new Pur Silk was a huge success!

Here are some of the colourways available:

Passion Pink

Off to Abbotsford Booth 601

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Phew!  I made it before the courier did (although he’s late due to vehicle problems which concerns me…a bit).  I’ve been working virtually non-stop for days to get ready for shipping to Abbotsford.  Usually I attend myself - and drive - so if I run out of time I just put everything in the van and sort it at the show.  This time I won’t be there myself so everything was being shipped via courier.  Here’s some of the boxes waiting for pick up:

And some of the silk before being packed.  It is exquisite!!!  Not as much as I’d hoped in the mulberry silk …but it’s all reskeined and any skeins with more than 3 knots were held back so you can be assured great and troublefree skeins!

The show is at the AgRec Centre in Abbotsford March 26-27 check here for details www.fibreswest.com

Indigo Moon Yarns will be at booth 601.  Lots of great yarns - new colourways - new yarns - the ever-popular superwash merino -  the oooh so sumptuous Silken Pleasures and…..Indigo Moon Yarn’s newest addition….I won’t tell you here…you’ll have to visit the show to find out or check the blog later this week…I’ll post on Thursday in case you want to rush on over to pick some up…it’s my most favorite yarn …and now it’s finally available for all of you!

Happy Spring

upcoming shows and such

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Well it’s definite…I’ll be at the Frolic in Toronto in May Woo Hoo!- the tickets are bought and the luggage waiting to be packed :)

And closer to home…Indigo Moon Yarns will be at the AgRec Centre in Abbotsford for Fibres West Mar 26-27.  I won’t personally be there,  Kathy and Rhonda will be taking over for me…..I have a bit of separation anxiety as this will be the first time my yarn will attend a show without me (and not part of a stores inventory)…so this is both exciting and nerve wracking (sp?).

Since shows are coming up I’ve been hugely inspired to do some new dyeing - it’s been crazy busy over here.  I wish I could dye like this everyday but administrative duties get in the way (as well as a 1000 other things).  Please check my blog daily for new colourways that are just spectacular (to me at least!).  You can sign up for the RSS feed if you don’t want to miss anything.  There will be limited quantities of each colourway..so you won’t want to miss that! There will be some things (like the exquisite Amethyst colourway I posted yesterday) that I just won’t be able to hold back…..and some surprises too :)

Cheers

Getting ready…

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

It’s been a crazy busy week as I get ready for my biggest show of the year -  Circle Craft Nov 10-15/09.  For those of you in the Vancouver area, I hope to see you!  I will be showcasing both my yarn line and handwoven textiles.

My booth is #461 - it’s a corner booth in the back right  (an aisle over from the women’s washrooms).

$2 off coupons on admission are available at www.circlecraft.net  When you purchase a ticket in advance you get a discount and avoid the often verrryyy long lines.

I won’t be posting much over the next few weeks as getting ready for the show eats up all my time.

Hope to see you there!
