One change to Yarn Club

Monday, July 26th, 2010

…only one.  This Autumn’s Yarn Club will feature three colourways that are…awesome!   And you will be THE people to see THE 3 new colourways that will be featured in 2011 before they hit the internet or retail outlets….You get to see them a few months before everyone else!  So far I haven’t been writing things down to dye in the future, but this time I did….I couldn’t bear not to.   That being the case, this time, if you so chose, you can trade them in public (ie Ravelry) at the beginning of 2011….if you can bare to let them go :)

So that’s the little change for this IM Yarn Club.

Newsletter for July/August 2010

 July 2010 Newsletter

Summer is upon us and holidays are happening for most.   Although I don’t take time off in the summer, I find that my life tends to take a shift at that time.  And that is partially why there are changes in the works regarding the IM Yarn Club.

****The Autumn Indigo Moon Yarn Club is open for sign ups until Aug 10…or earlier if space runs out J. This term will run from Sept to Nov 09 inclusive and will feature the rich tones of Fall.   I was planning to take time off in 2011 however….things are up in the air …and may continue for another year before I take a break :)   If you’d like to add your voice email me at info(at)indigomoonyarns(dot)com.

If you signed up for the  Autumn Club only because it was supposed to be the last one and want to change your mind….just let me know…I’m ok with that.  I’ll know more by the next newsletter.  If the IM Yarn Club runs in 2011, there will be a few changes …to make things a bit less stressful for me J

****New Deep Discounts section on website.  Since there are no more spaces on the homepage I’ve placed the “Deep Discounts” section with the “Yarn Club etc” in the bottom right hand corner for now.  Here is the direct link http://www.indigomoonyarns.com/index.php?cPath=40

In the “Deep Discounts” section you will find everything from limited editions to discontinued colourways, some with slight imperfections, maybe a few less yards, or a knot or two.  But I will always mention if there is something not quite perfect so you won’t have any surprises.

***September Show in Nanaimo.  I will have a booth at the Fashion Fiesta being held at the Nanaimo Convention Centre Sept 10 and 11, 2010.

***I will no longer be attending the Filberg Festival in Comox  August long weekend.

***I will be attending The Yoga Conference in Oct in Vancouver which is a new-to-me show….not the usual place for yarn but a perfect place for my handwoven shawls and blankets (the yarn will be an added bonus!).

Have a great  rest-of-the-summer.

Yarn Club for June

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Just received a request from a Yarn Club members so thought I’d post this offer in case anyone else from the Yarn Club is interested.  P posted this photo of the yarn …hope you don’t mind I “borrowed” it as I have not yet taken a photo and yours is great!

I dyed and redyed natural indigo over fusticwood to get bluey green shading - it’s a bit darker green to my eye…but that could be just me :).  Good news is that I have some skeins available  for purchase for Yarn Club members.  The knot so good news (notice the pun here :) ) is that I had the tension on too tight when reskeining so there is 1 or 3 knots in each skein since the yarn snapped under tension.  The good news is that the yarn is just fine…the better news is that I will sell the skeins at $15 instead of $28….so they are basically half price!  Crazy but you caught me in a very generous mood :)  If you start a new ball at the knot you’ll know when to expect the end and not have to rip back.  I was going to sell them at 10% off …but almost 50% off has a certain ring to it don’t you think…cheers!

Yarn Club for Sept

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

I’ve had quite a bit of interest in the Fall yarn Club  already so thought I would post the revised info on the Club.  Those of you that have been members before already know the spiel, so you don’t need to go through it.  I will mention 2 changes though.

First, you are welcome to sell or trade to non-subscribers after 6 months - before it was after 1 year which I think is a bit long.

Secondly, all members get 10% off all online instock yarn throughout their memberhsip (eg 3 month term for 3 months and the 1 year term for 12 months).

I will only have very sporadic access to a computer - if at all - between May 2 and 10 - so thought I would post this info for anyone interested in knowing about the Club during that time.

Here goes…it’s long…so maybe get a coffee first :)

So here we are…the 5th Indigo Moon Yarn Club!!!!

How Long?

Subscriptions will run for 3 months with shipments in Sept, Oct and Nov 2010.  There is also a 1-year yarn club but subscriptions are currently closed. What colour? All colourways are dyed specifically for the yarn club, are limited editions and will not be released to the general public for at least 6 months..  By signing up for the Indigo Moon Yarn Club you agree to not sell or trade skeins for 6 months after the colourway is previewed.  Eg Merlot is the colourway for January 2010 and is not to be sold or traded in public (eg Ravelry) till June 2010– but trading or selling  is OK among other current subscribers.  Since you and other Yarn Club members pay for the exclusivity of these colourways, it’s only fair that non-members have to wait till they are available for public sale.  What yarn?At least 2 of each 3 month term will be the ever favorite superwash merino in fingering wt.  Any yarns that particularly interest you, let me know as I’m open to suggestions JWhat is the cost?$110 Canadian Subscription includes shipping of 1 skein per month , and you receive 10% off regularly priced in stock items online throughout the 3 month term. $125 US Subscription (paid in Canadian funds) includes shipping of 1 skein per month), and you receive 10% off regularly priced in stock items online throughout the 3 month term.

**The 1-year plan allows you to sign up once and you receive 9 skeins of yarn exclusively hand dyed for Club members shipped Jan, Feb, Mar, May, June, July, Sept, Oct and Nov.  You also save $20 or more with the 1 year membership (instead of buying three 3-month memberships individually), and you receive 10% off regularly priced in stock items online throughout the whole year.  Sign up ends Nov 2010 for 2011.

What if lost?

I will hold back some skeins each month in case of loss in shipping.  All Canadian packages will have a tracking number so if it doesn’t arrive we’ll find out why, and a replacement will be sent.  For the US and Internationally, no tracking # is provided although this could be done for an additional cost. Refunds     No refunds available once subscription buy-ins are finished.Extra skeins? Each month there may be extra skeins be available for sale only to Yarn Club members. There will be different lots available so please make sure to keep your skein band if you want the same lot. And as mentioned above, they are not to be sold or traded publicly online for 6 months.Gift Giving?

If you would like to purchase a subscription for a friend or family member, I am happy to bill the gift giver, and ship to the gift recipient and keep things a secret.  Please make a note on your order (there is a box to write “notes”) and whether it is a surprise or not. When and how to order? You can order at anytime at http://www.indigomoonyarns.com/index.php?cPath=40&cart=gral6d5rjngfl473hu8t8nc3k7Please excuse the messiness of this post but the blog doesn’t want to accept my corrections for spacing.

1 year Yarn Club

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

This morning I received an email and thought…”maybe there are other people wondering the same thing”.

So this is just a reminder that the 1 year subscriptions to the Indigo Moon Yarn Club 2010 include 9 shipments and the online yarn discount of 10%.  Yarn is shipped to arrive the first week of Jan, Feb, Mar, May, June, July, Sept, Oct and November.  I will be shipping the May installment the last week of April.  Hope you will enjoy it as it is something near and dear to my heart.

Power on - Yarn Club buy-in closes

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

Finally our power is back on.  Almost 2 days without power - and no battery back up like a radio, tv,phone or laptop - gets a bit old really fast :)  On top of that my brain hasn’t been functioning like it used to.  Maybe it’s because I’m a year older - but I can’t imagine there is a switch that gets flipped on your birthday to make you stupid…how could that be!  It’s what some call “the menopausal mind” or stress , I don’t know….but it is making things a lot harder than they used to be :)

Anyway….with the power outage I was unable to send out the newsletter - so it will be another day or two (depending on my brain).  The Yarn Club buy-in was supposed to end on Monday but I’ll move it to Wednesday April 7th…to make up for the lost days.

Now off to knit …hopefully it’ll stimulate my brain and relax my mind:)

cheers

Last yarn club

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Here is a photo taken by one of our IM groupies :)

This colourway is called “Paradise Found” .  It reminded me of the turquoisey-blue water in the Tropics.  I just love the water and all the animals that live there!

IM Paradise Found - March club by wildwoolly.

You can sign up for the next yarn club until April 1st at http://www.indigomoonyarns.com/index.php?cPath=40&cart=4bab72397470f484f2e50d6d81845d28.  I haven’t decided on a theme though  am leaning towards natural dyes :)

cheers
